If you have a debt collection lawsuit or other problem related to consumer credit such as a credit card, auto loan, student loan, or cell phone debt, CLARO (Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office) may be able to assist you free of charge. Staten Island Legal Services is part of Legal Services NYC, which provides free legal assistance to low-income individuals throughout the five boroughs.
The Legal Services NYC Bankruptcy Assistance Project (NYC BAP) prepares and files Chapter 7 and, in some cases, Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions for eligible clients.
